Earrings from a street vendor cost s/ 5 (five soles). This translates to $1.67. Incredible.

Also, no one gives a mierda what you look like.

Mi amiga Erin Conboy from Georgia College is living in Lima right

now, so I spent an extra long layover with her before I fly out to Cusco tomorrow.

Later today, Erin's friend Julio met up with us. He is Peruvian and awesomely helpful. We walked around Universidad de Lima and went to a restaurant the Jonas Brothers recently ate at (Woo hoo!). I tried my first Pisco Sour, which is a Peruvian drink made of eggs, pisco, lime, and something else, I'm sure. Its the drink of the nation, but I think its an acquired taste. I also ate fantastic potato cake with crab and avocado... here's a pic.

I am happy and healthy and ready for CUSCO!
