So, today we took the kids swimming. (Also, I finally uploaded pics of my kids... they own my heart.) Only 4 came today (out of 12) because of the 3 soles entrance fee to the pool. Only one out of the four had ever been in a pool before today. We took a taxi to the pool, paid the fees and found bathing suits for the kiddos out of the lost and found. Vivian was jumping up and down all morning and so flippin excited. She was super timid at first, but as you can see from the pics, she pretty much learned to swim. This is a nonverbal, non communicational, violent child. But she was like a mermaid in the water-- I was thrilled. I wore shorts and a t-shirt because I'm not about to get in a pool with kids with no verbal filter. Ha!In other news: I made new friends! I met many many more volunteers this week. One is working at my school also, but not with Projects Abroad, she has organized a

network of volunteers in Cusco to go out for drinks and talk about our crazy lives here. One of them is working with Projects Abroad, my age, and from New Jersey. I'm stoked to have her around because she is in a similar position with meeting people in Cusco.

Kate's last day officially with us is Friday... We went souvenier shopping today at an Inca Market, I helped her barter... and I loved it. Sometimes, people tell me my spanish is awesome, sometimes they say things like "Its pretty difficult, huh?" So who really knows. I am increasingly loving Cusco, as I get to know more places and people. I think Edgard is planning a birthday adventure, but I'm not sure. I've got a purpose, a plan, and a homeish place. Life is solid, folks.
