Bare Necessities.

If my students agree to work quietly, I play the "A Whole New World" Pandora station for them. I just pulled up Pandora during my planning, and it was still playing sweet Disney tunes. I was fondly listening to them, forgetting that I intended to put on Fleet Foxes. Then the "Bare Necessities" happened upon my playlist. What a song! I forgot about it.

It's the bare necessities, those simple bare necessities;

Forget about your worry and your strife;

I mean the bare necessities,

That's why a bear can rest at ease

With just the bare necessities of life.

It made me think of one of my favorite scriptures, which I fail at everyday. "Since we have entered this world penniless and will leave it penniless, if we have bread on the table and shoes on our feet, that's enough." [1 Timothy 6:7-8.]

Oh, to live simply! Thinking of my friends who struggle for the shoes on their feet and bread on their tables... and the number of shoes I own.

But, oh those simple bare necessities will come to you (my dear friends)! [hope.]
