Woo Girl

When I first traveled to Cuzco, I volunteered with a European agency called Projects Abroad. I was impressed by this organization; instead of just placing volunteers in the schools and clinics in Cuzco, they have a formal partnership with the ministry of education in Cuzco. It is NOT easy to get an in with the ministry of education-- so this is big.

I've scored a meeting with the director of Projects Abroad Peru to discuss a very exciting opportunity. Since the ministry of education only signs agreements or offers support to local agencies (especially now since the nationalist party has control of the Cuzco region), it is imperative for the Peru Project to establish relationships with these local agencies.

The goal of the meeting in Cuzco is to discuss a temporary agreement between the Peru Project and Projects Abroad Peru. Projects Abroad would then make "us" part of their formal agreement with the ministry. We would then become an envoy of Projects Abroad in our school, CEBER San Martin.

Needless to say, the last 24 hours have been full of joy. Fundraising complete. Ticket booked. Meeting marked.

I feel like a woo girl...
