Since Peruvians take New Year's Eve
quite seriously, there was little to be done today in the city. I ate lunch at a great hole-in-the-wall pizzeria (pizza, garlic bread, and coca cola for s/. 10.00... or approx $3.75!), then headed to Mercado San Pedro.
I've never seen the market more crowded, with people lining the streets selling yellow flowers, barley, beans, and a whole host of other yellow products that should give luck for the new year. I grabbed some cheap champagne, fruit, cheese, and lucky barley... as well as some stylin' NYE glasses.

I've had an update on the underoo's tradition. In fact, people do put on yellow undies just as the clock strikes midnight. However, in the main plaza where tourista and Cusquenan alike gather, they put the undies on
over the clothes... and then run 4 laps.
I do also want to give a shout out to a few folks who have donated since I've been here.Thank you! Your kindness does not go unnoticed, even if it is anonymous.
