God is so good!

Thank you to everyone who is donating! I am in complete and utter awe of how great our God is, and how loving you all are! So far, we have raised $700-- this is fantastic because there is just so much need. Beyond shoes, there is medicine and school resources that are completely absent. I always think of my student who is given Haldol for his ADHD when I think of this project. He needs shoes, and so much more. The more we raise, the more lives will CHANGE! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Weekend pictures are here!
More tourist pictures are here!

I've had an incredible 4 days! Gigi and I went to Puno for thursday and friday since we had a school holiday (no one is sure what they celebrated, but I'm down with it.) We actually found out Wednesday that we don't have school and walked down to the bus terminal during recess-- this is how we decided on Puno. Puno is the location of Lake Titicaca, the floating islands, and the border town to Bolivia. Now, I won't go to Bolivia because I have to pay an extra $100 to cross the border, since I'm American. But we had a great time with a couple Pina Coladas, jenga games and a hot shower each. Also visited the temple of fertility in Chucuito on Friday-- its a garden of genitalia shaped stone formations. Then we rode a swan shaped paddle boat in Lake Titicaca. Pictures from the weekend are here. (Extra thanks to sister Erin for her camera- life changer!)

Saturday, Edgard hooked myself and Charlotte up with a city tour. This tour goes through Sacsaywayman, Q'oriqancha, and other ruins that I can't spell. I love being a tourist, and giving advice to all the new tourists! They had a million questions for us, and we made restaurant, food, and site recommendations. I felt pretty cool. Most of our pictures are a bit scandelous (i.e. climbing rocks we shouldn't, holding up tours, getting fussed at a little bit.) But if you had seen as many Inca rock formations as we have at this point, you'd be a little rebellious too. We also went to Bullfrogs to celebrate Gigi's birthday!

Today, Ninoska (Charlotte's host mom) took us to some awesome ruins in Tipon and another I can't remember the name of... Sorry, guys. Today was great because we just roamed around unguided and explored some awesome stuff. I also ate fantastic fried trout for lunch.

Now I am sitting in Cross Keys with tears in my eyes, because I am so happy! Soles for Soles has become something I am incredibly passionate about, and so thankful for the opportunity to work with. And so so so incredibly thankful for the people who have sacrificed and shown their love for these kids very tangibly.

Keep it coming, please! I don't want to lose momentum.

And check out this sweet video my Christin Johnson put together:
