1. On Monday, we made up a dance for international disability week. Somehow, my class got paired with the older version of my class-- you know, the most severe kids out of 200, ages 10-18. Somehow we landed on the concept of a clown dance... definitely not my idea.
2. On Tuesday I stayed home with a migraine and Charlotte came over with whatever American food she could find... oreos. We laid in my bed and watched American crime shows, Felicity and Beverly Hills 90210 the whole afternoon. SO GRATEFUL!
3. On Wednesday, someone suggested that I am capable of diagnostic testing and I was
whisked away to somewhere outside of Calca in some village where I was asked to distinguish if this kid is special needs. He's slow, but I think he's alright. How did I diagnose him? We chatted. I googled it, and I think I did okay.

4. On Thursday, our class (and all the other classes) preformed our dance in front of the school. Quite unfortunately, there weren't enough costumes for me to dance too, so I took a video.
5. Also on Thursday, somehow all of the 6 teachers in between our classes disappeared for 20 minutes and I was left alone with all of the students... dressed like clowns. Full makeup. Can you imagine?
6. Also, Arturo escaped from school on Thursday and everyone said "he'll be okay." To clarify "escapred," he literally ran away from school. His mom told me that one time he ran away from home for 3 days. The police found him.

7. Today was the teacher party for my school's patron saint
(bizarre, right? its a doll). The kids went home early (10 am) so the teachers could dance and drink (in the school gym). They also served what they referred to as the "flag of Cusquenan food."
starter: tamale with an onion salad
soup: caldo de pollo
entree: seaweed, caviar, guinea pig, chicken, steak, cheese, hotdog, a tortilla cake
Delicious! Can you imagine?

8. Also, I visited the only private school for special needs in Cusco, which is awesome and so posh. Teachers from my school work there in the afternoon. A girl from Seattle and a teacher from my school founded the school this year. They're already up to 42 students. I might volunteer there in the afternoon, although San Martin wears me out!
9. Now I am very homesick, so I took a taxi to an English pub and am eating granola with yogurt and honey and a Coca Cola light. Also waiting for people to get on skype (please!).

10. Soles for Soles is at $872. Blows my mind. God is so good.
11. Soundtrack for the moment: Caedmon's Call- Only One; Jason Mraz- God Rests in Reason; Dave- No. 41; Law and Order theme.
I think I should note they're playing All Saints in this bar right now.
you are hilarious. keep these updates coming! and yippee for soles for soles!!!
