South America, take me home.

Planning for the 2011 trip. My deepest desire is to make it to Cuzco once a year to touch base and work with parents. Maintaining the relationships that have already been developed in Cuzco is imperative to eventually making this project sustainable. Plus, that's what service is: delving into another's heart, and walking with them in mutuality. I stand beside my people in prayer, but long to stand beside them in my city.

Of course, airfare right now is one million dollars. Just kidding, it's $1400. No dice on that one. However... a one way ticket to Columbia is $266. And a bus to Quito is $70 (and 30 hours). And bus to Lima is another $70 (and 25 hours). And then a bus to Cuzco is another $75 (and 24 hours). So, a girl can dream. Although bus trips sound exotic and adventurous, I'd be wary-- our 8 hour bus to Puno was treacherous. Then there's the flight back from Cuzco. All in all, I need about $1,000.

So, pray for Orbitz to post one hella good airfare.
